Belmont Hospital (NSW)
Belmont Hospital's 3rd level refurbishment was to develop a new 16 bed Sub Acute Service Unit. Due to the busy environment of the ER, fixtures need to be robust enough to handle tough hostile conditions. Down time of any equipment, including hand washing basins, would affect the overall running of the department so it was critical that maintaining the taps was easy and cost effective.
Products Specified and Installed: The CliniLever® surgical range was used for this project as it was ideal for coping with the demanding environments The range is robust and designed to assist where infection control and hand hygiene are paramount. The tap also has the ability to isolate water from the surgical unit, easing any concerns of down time and maintenance costs. If significant repair is required, the damaged unit can be isolated and removed simply, allowing replacement with a new unit within a matter of minutes, without affecting the rest of the ward.
As a result from this project Hunter New England Health allowed us the opportunity to demonstrate the effectiveness of the CliniLever® range of taps. A sample CliniLever® surgical unit was installed in the emergency department. This is one of the busiest areas of the hospital where it is critical that hand hygiene is paramount. The unit was monitored by the Facility Manager for a trial period to assess its performance and the feedback given to Scott Pascoe, the Facility Planner at Hunter New England Health. Because the product performed so well in the rigorous ER environment there was no hesitation in installing the units in their new Sub Acute Service Unit.
The CliniLever® range was later installed at other Hunter New England Health facilities including Kurri Kurri Hospital and the GP Super Clinic, Raymond Terrace.
